Eager FPL fans will know that there are a bunch of double fixtures still yet to come. Now is the time to start looking ahead and making thought-out transfers. Apart from the popular picks, there are quite a number of players, who have impressed recently with surprise FPL returns. In addition, there are some which have been going under the radar – producing impressive underlying stats but not yet translating them into FPL points. These guys could explode soon, and being ahead of the curve is both very beneficial, and very satisfying. In this article, we have compiled 5 differentials for Gameweek 32 in FPL 2021/22 that can help boost your rank.

FPL Gameweek 32 Differentials 2021/22

1. Martin Dubravka (Goalkeeper) – 4.4 million

Newcastle United suffered a crushing defeat in GW31, conceding 5 goals at the hands of Tottenham. It might appear that Newcastle has an easily exploitable defense, but the truth is in fact the complete opposite. In the 10 matches prior to GW31, Newcastle ranked 5th for the least xGC in the league, behind Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City. They ranked as the 4th best for goals conceded (7), only two goals more than the leading team, Liverpool (5).

Home support has been especially beneficial to the Magpies – they have conceded just 3 goals in their last 4 home games, a tally which only Liverpool has beaten under those circumstances. Newcastle’s next 3 fixtures are all home games, against Wolves, Leicester, and Palace. The final two in that list will form a double gameweek in GW33. To top it all off, Newcastle will have a reassuring fixture against 20th placed Norwich City.

Clearly, the Newcastle defence is worth looking into, and their starter goalkeeper in Martin Dubravka is a very promising investment. Priced at 4.4 million, Dubravka is owned by just 2.6% of managers – he is predicted to be the highest scoring keeper in GW32 as well (4 points). The Slovakian can provide very good cover between the posts for the next three game-weeks.

2. Connor Roberts (Defender) – 4.4 million

Burnley defenders have not been the kind of players to appear tempting throughout the course of the season. However, their fixture schedule is, from now till the end of the season. They face just one top 6 side in the final seven game-weeks, and they’ll also have two double game-weeks as well (GW33 and GW37). They are certainly looking like a very appealing team.

Connor Roberts has quickly become Dyche’s preferred RB over Lowton. Over the last 6 game-weeks, the Welshman has racked up the 2nd most points out of the Burnley defense. He as also created the most chances (4 – with 1 assist), attempted the most crosses (13), and had the most entries into the opposition box (33), compared to other defenders at the clubs.

Robert’s combination of fixtures and decent underlying stats makes him a decent option to consider. The 26-year-old is owned by just 0.5% of managers so any return could make a huge difference.

3. Cedric Soares (Defender) – 4.2 million

Arsenal suffered a crushing defeat in GW31 at the hands of Crystal Palace. They’ll be looking to bounce back with confidence though, and have decent opportunities to do so. A home fixture against Brighton in GW32 precedes a double game week for the Gunners in GW33, where they play Southampton and Chelsea.

Overall, Arsenal has had a pretty good season so far despite some ups and downs, and their strong defense has been especially tough to penetrate. They rank 5th for the best xGC and have conceded the 5th least number of goals this season.

Cedric Soares has covered for Tomiyasu and has consistently started games for Arsenal. The Portuguese man has made 5 key passes in the last 6 game-weeks, in addition to 6 successful crosses and 39 entries into the opposition box – both ranking 2nd highest amongst teammates. He is also on corners duty too. With Tierney injured for the rest of the season, it makes sense for backup Nuno Tavares to step in. However, the latter has been subbed off at halftime in both his last two matches. Cedric was deployed at LB a few times last season, so that could be a possibility again, should Arteta prefer an alternative to Tavares.

4. Harvey Barnes (Midfielder) – 6.6 million

Leicester City is one of the teams to target between now and the end of the season. They play just two more top 6 sides and have a total of 3 double game-weeks as well. As well as playing twice in GW33, the Foxes have back-to-back doubles in GW36 and GW37 too. Currently, James Maddison seems to be the most sought-after Leicester player to take advantage of the schedule.

However, Barnes has put up some very good numbers this season and is currently in a good bit of form too. He has returned in three of his last five games, totaling 1 goal and 2 assists. Overall, Barnes is the leading assister for Leicester this season with 8 assists and also has the 2nd most goals amongst his teammates (3).

Barnes’ 14 shots inside the box are the most at the club in the last 5 matches and are almost three times as much as second place. In fact, that statistic ranks joint third amongst all midfielders in the game. In addition, the 24-year-old has team-leading totals for expected goals (1.8), touches in the opposition box (30), and predicted points for GW32 (4.8).

5. Joseph Willock (Midfielder) – 5.7 million

Newcastle United has a great set of fixtures over the next three game-weeks – Wolves, Leicester, Crystal Palace, and Norwich. That includes three games at home and a double game week in GW33 as well. The Magpies have scored 14 goals from an xG of 13.43 in the last 10 game-weeks, which ranks 7th and 12th respectively. They aren’t the flashiest going forward, but they aren’t exactly bad either. Joseph Willock has been one of the players with the best underlying numbers in this Newcastle attack.

Over the last seven matches, Willock has totaled the most goals (2), shots (14), and shots inside the box (11), amongst Newcastle teammates despite starting just 6 matches out of 7. He is a midfielder that likes to bomb forward and take shots at goal, and his form towards the end of last season showed what the Englishman is capable of. Owned by just 2.2% of managers, Willock has predicted an average of 5.5 points per game-week over the next three weeks.
