Accompanying the leader of the biggest Ionian ninja clan comes the leader of Ionia herself. An ancient soul reincarnated countless times Karma, the Enlightened One, is a mage support champion who can be played in the Mid and Dragon Lane. In this guide, we will take a closer look at the best runes, spells, and builds, including tips and tricks to grace your way to victory with Karma in League of Legends: Wild Rift.

Skill Analysis

Karma, in the support position, is an Enchanter but classifies in other lanes as a battle mage. Like her identity, her spells also have a duality system in which her three abilities grant additional effects after getting 3 stacks upon casting. This requires Karma players to plan what spell to use beforehand to maximize the full potential.

Karma is a champion with the common five skill sets of one passive and four actives. In this Karma guide, we are going to see how her abilities in LoL Wild Rift work and when players should use and which skill to be in the best shape in the current rank season. 

Passive – Mantra

Every spell cast grants Karma a stack of Mantra. At 3 stacks, she enters a Mantra State, enhancing her next basic ability.

Skill 1 – Inner Flame

The skill fires a blast of energy, dealing 60 magic damage (+ 40% AP) to the first target hit and surrounding enemies, slowing them by 35% for 1.5 seconds.

Mantra: It increases the destructive power of the blast, dealing 70 magic damage (+ 50%) to the first target hit and surrounding enemies. The blast leaves a field for 1.5 seconds, slowing targets by 50%, after which it explodes and deals 40 magic damage (+50%).

Skill 2 – Focused Resolve

The skill tethers upto two nearby enemy champions, dealing 35 magic damage (+ 40%) and revealing them for 1.75 seconds. If targets fail to break the tether, they take 40 magic damage (+ 45%) and are rooted for 1 second(s).

Mantra: A new tether will be formed between tethered targets. If there is only one tethered target, the new tether will spread toward an additional nearby enemy champion. If targets fail to break all the tethers, they take 40 magic damage (+ 45%) and are rooted for an improved 1.5 seconds.

Skill 3 – Inspire

The skill grants an allied champion 60 shield (+50%) for 3 seconds and 45% movement speed for 1.5 seconds.

Mantra: Karma focuses her power, granting a 150 shield (+ 50%) that decays over 4 seconds and 60% movement speed that decays to 20% over the same duration. An additional ring is generated around the shielded target, and the first ally champion who enters the ring will be granted the same shield.

Ultimate – Transcendent Embrace

It immediately enters Mantra state.

The skill forms a ring of spirit energy at the target location. After 1s. it detonates, dealing 150 magic damage (+60%) to all enemies inside the circle and slowing them by 50% for 1 s. If enemies are hit by the outer ring, they will be knocked back toward the centre.

Skill Up Methods for Karma

Skill up the Ultimate whenever it is available. Regarding other skills, upgrade the 3rd skill, then the 2nd  skill, and lastly the 1st skill.

Best Runes Setup and Spells for Karma in Wild Rift

Karma is one of the enchanters who almost fit any team composition making her a solid champion to play in solo queue. Karma has a tether to root her enemies, a shield for her and another ally and a poking spell that places her with her good team synergy overall in the A-tier of the support list. Aery is probably Karma´s most viable rune since it synergizes with her shield and her poking spells. It also helps out scaling into the late game.


After the nerfs to Brutal, Weakness is a good option to dash out early game damage on demand. Since almost all of Karma´s abilities slow the enemies, Weakness will proc a lot of times.

Adaptive Carapace

As usually in this category, it must be chosen situational wise. If players are against a lot of all-in/dive champions, Adaptive Carapace will help players out coming out alive. Against combo reliant champions, Bone Plating is much better. Against poke champions, Second Wind is the option to take.

Hunter – Genius

Karma likes to spam her abilities a lot, to get the maximum effect of her passive and her spells, especially during team fights. She does not struggle with her mana Karma can make good usage of the Hunter Genius rune.

Battle Spells


Like other enchanters and some battle mages, Karma does not have a reliable way to get out of sticky situations. Therefore, picking up Flash is mandatory for survival during team fights.

Heal/Ignite or Exhaust

Taking Heal is useful for Karma against diving enemy comps when she has bought her healing buffing items. Players must take Ignite for a lane where they can/want to play aggressively. It is also very effective against enemy champions which heal a lot. Exhaust is recommended when one has to play safely in the laning phase, such as facing all-in comps. It is also powerful against assassins who are out for blood for the ADC.

We have already established that Karma is a Support best suited to being played in the Dragon Lane. Players must always remember that the Wild Rift’s Map is a mirror. Therefore, one must make sure they understand the map side before starting to lane. According to her gameplay, we can break it down into three phases. Early Game

Karma has a decent early game thanks to her strong poking abilities. For Mid and the Support role, players usually would like to get “Inner Flame” first, since it has a nice range to poke from. Remember, players should not have to hit the enemy champions directly, since the spell hits all surrounding enemies after the first strike. Thus, one can aim the skill against an enemy minion to whom the enemy champions are standing close, thus hitting both.

Players must make sure to know when to play aggressively with strong early game ADCs and against late-game enemy champions. According to that, they must play passively with late-game ADC´s and against an all-in enemy bot lane. 

Mid Game

As Karma, players can make use of the movement speed buff of the “Inspire” spell given to the players to roam around. With “Focused Resolve”, players can make nice plays and root the enemies, so they are positioned properly to maximize the full potential of your ultimate “Transcendent Embrace”. As a battle mage, players always want to do the highest area damage possible which means getting a 5-man enemy ultimate for example. They must try to prepare for it first, by slowing down the enemies with your abilities.

Late Game

After a successful mid-game, Karma has a lot of options to support the team. Karma is the strongest with her whole team together, therefore, keep an eye on the mini-map. Players must focus on having their Skill 3 with Mantra up, as much as possible during team fights. They can also try to make set up plays for your team or follow someone’s engagement by using the ultimate correctly. Karma has a nice synergy with other champions ultimate such as Diana´s or Malphite´s.

At the late game, after buying the necessary items, Karma is able to spam her abilities more often and stronger at which point, players will finally be scaled to the full potential.
