Pokémon Unite Garchomp movesets
Garchomp, as said earlier, being a dual Ground and Dragon-type, comes with a range of ground and dragon-type moves. Similar to all other Pokémon, the first two abilities are available at levels 1 and 3. For Garchomp, the further upgrades or evolutions of those initial moves come at levels 6 and 8.
Its moves are easy to apply in the game and also deal a lot of damage. The game starts with Garchomp in its initial Gible form. At level 5, Gible evolves into Gabite, which then finally evolves into Garchomp at level 9. In this Pokémon Unite Garchomp guide, we would be now discussing the Pokémons’ moves or abilities in detail.
The basic attack becomes a boosted attack with every 5th hit, dealing increased damage and restoring Garchomp’s HP. For a short time after the boosted attack hits, every time one of the user’s basic attacks or moves hits an opposing Pokemon, the user’s basic attack speed is increased.
Passive – Rough Skin
Garchomp’s passive enables it to inflict additional damage on any melee-type Pokemon when it does any damage on Garchomp. The additional damage is a part of the damage inflicted by the enemies with their melee attacks.
Ability 1 – Sand Attack
Through this ground-type attack, the player hurls sand at the opposition, decreasing their movement speed for a short time after it hits. This also increases the user’s movement and basic attack speeds.
Ability choices at Level 5
Ability 1 Sand Attack evolves into one of the two abilities at level 5.
|The player backs up a bit and then dives towards the designated direction, shoving the opposition. This move can be used as a combo along with another dragon-type move Dragon Claw (to be discussed later), increasing Dragon Claw’s effect and decreasing the opponent’s movement speed. This move further reduces the damage the user receives while using it.||This ground-type move makes the player burrow underground and move quickly in a designated direction, jumping out, whenever it comes in contact with the opposition, or when traveled maximum distance. The jump deals damage to the opposition in the AoE and throws them. Using this move the players increase Defense and Sp. Def for a short time.|
|Upgrade: The player becomes immune to hindrance while using this move.||Upgrade: It increases the time the opposition is thrown when the player jumps up from the underground.|
Ability 2 – Bulldoze
The player stomps down on the ground, dealing damage to opposing Pokemon in the area of effect.
Ability choices at level 7
Ability 2 Bulldoze, evolves into one of the two abilities at level 7.
|The user attacks twice in front of it with its claws. The first attack deals damage and throws the opponent. Furthermore, the second attack deals additional damage and also decreases the opponent’s movement speed for a short time.||The user jumps high into the air and crashes forcefully on the ground, dealing damage over time to the opposition in the area of effect. Also, it decreases their movement speed for a short time.|
|Upgrade: Increases the damage dealt by this move.||Upgrade: The movement speed is further decreased, especially for the ones closer to Garchomp.|
Unite Move – Livid Outrage
Garchomp unleashes a powerful chain of attacks while dashing forward. The final attack throws opposing Pokemon besides leaving the user (Garchomp) unable to act for a short time.

Pokémon Unite Garchomp Gameplay Tips
This section of our Pokémon Unite Garchomp guide would discuss the early and late game tips while playing with Garchomp.
Garchomp starts in its first evolutionary form, Gible. The priority should be hunting wild Pokémon in the middle lane, leveling up as soon as possible. Gible and Gabite take a while to evolve and hence, wild Pokémon and score plenty of goals to level up.
Players chooses Bulldoze as the first move and use it freely while jungling, but keep it for last hits while battling the opposition. Players must remember Garchomp’s passive ability. They do not hesitate to go one-on-one with melee Pokémon if needed.
Since, Garchomp is weaker in its initial stages, not levelling it up sooner would see other Pokémon overpower it. The goal should be to fully evolve the Pokémon, within the first 5 minutes. The Sand attack move might look useless, but it isn’t such. Players must use it to boost Gible’s attack and movement speed, while jungling.
Gible evolves to Gabite at Level 5 and either, Dragon Rush or Dig becomes available. Both kinds have a similar kind of function. However, the focus should still be upon jungling until at Level 7, when Dragon Claw or Earthquake becomes available. Dragon Rush should be paired with Dragon Claw, and Dig with Earthquake. Any other combination won’t be much fruitful.
Whenever Drednaw appears, players must check out the surroundings and prolong the fight with Drednaw to level up. They must remember that the Unite move would make Garchomp not use any moves for a while, so they must not use it when the crowd is filled with opponents at full or more than half HP remaining. Players must use it when knocking out an opponent is a possibility.
Positioning of Garchomp
As already said, the best lane for Garchomp, at the initial and middle stages would be the middle one. Jungling should be the priority, with occasional visits to the bottom lane to fight Drednaw. Players must score goals on either side, when the moment is perfect, to level up quickly.
Garchomp with other Pokémon
Our Pokémon Unite Garchomp guide would also talk about the relationship between Garchomp and other Pokémon.
Best synergies with Garchomp
Though jungling hardly requires an adventure-mate, the following Pokémon can team up perfectly with Garchomp, if needed.
|Slowbro||Slowbro evolves early and is also a decent defender. A perfect partner for Garchomp.|
|Snorlax||This tanky Pokemon would be perfect synergy for Garchomp in its initial stages.|
|Wigglytuff||This supporter evolves much earlier, like Slowbro, hence doesn’t require farming much. Ask a fellow Wigglytuff if any, to do damage and leave the final hits on wild Pokemon for Gible/ Gabite.|

Pokémon Unite Garchomp: Tips, tricks and strategies
Our Pokémon Unite Garchomp guide includes the perfect game plan for the early and late game during the Unite battles.
- As already said, players must use a combo of Dig. They must immediately an Earthquake when in contact with an opponent, for massive damage.
- Similarly, accompanying a Dragon Rush immediately with a Dragon Claw attack for aditional damage.
- All the above move combinations, alongside the Unite Move, requires a lot of practice to master. Players must use the offline mode to practice these moves. If they do not know how to play offline battles yet, check it here.
- Players must use Dig to rush towards battles, or retreat quickly. Dragon Rush too, would help in this purpose.
- Garchomp is pretty much weak to the ranged attackers. Players must try not to get into a ranged fight with them. They must lose in the distance with a dash move and then fight.
- Finally, to sum up, as already said, focus on jungling in the initial stages. Players must counter enemies, only after the Pokemon is fully evolved.
Garchomp is an excellent allrounder Pokémon. However, playing with it requires practice, be it the basic attacks, boosted attacks, or any other moves. Like many other all-rounders in the game, Garchomp has the ability to be the lone-wolf of the team. However, since it is a team game, having a companion is recommended nevertheless. Garchomp, an A-tier melee-ranged allrounder deals physical attack and is of intermediate difficulty to handle.
